The Hammer Strength MTS line is great, and this may be the most special machine in the whole line. In my opinion, it is the best leg extension ever made. Having both weight stacks is a game changer on this exercise. It is a very eye opening experience the first time you try to synchronize your legs to move together. You quickly realize which leg takes the lead in the dance. We all naturally favor a side, and we can make it worse overtime through compound lifts. Exercises like these help realign our wheels.
Creating balance between our dominant and non-dominant sides has to be one of the main goals of accessory work. Sometimes we get so obsessed over finding the body parts that are imbalanced that we forget about the fact that we were born favoring one hand and one foot. Unilateral accessory work is the only cure for the problem. When we do things bilaterally, our dominant side inevitably takes over. So we need to train each limb on its own to balance ourselves out.
