Before we owned this, the standing side lateral had to be one of, if not the most requested machines from our members. They were dead on in their desires. There’s something about doing shoulder work standing up that really appeals the our homosapien sensibilities (like Viking Presses and Standing Military Presses).
This machine is so cool because you can work every head of the delt. Facing the machine is a traditional lateral raise, working the side delt. Turning to the sides and doing a front raise targets the anterior (front) delt. Doing the side raises facing away from the machine targets the posterior (rear) deltoids.
This is an older generation Atlantis. The handles are straight rather than angled. Then tension throughout the range of motion is also more pronounced on this older model. With the newer ones the tension kicks in a bit later.
